We would like to introduce you to smart, low-carb, high fibre variants of all your favourite foods for diabetes.

Mushroom Soup

Sliced Mushrooms -  3 Cups

Oil                          -  1tsp

Chopped Onions    -  1/2 cup

whole wheat flour -  2tsp

low fat milk           -  1 cup

Method

Heat the oil in a deep non stick pan add the onions and saute on a medium flame for 1 minute.

Add the whole wheat flour, mushrooms and 1 cup of water, mix well and cook well on a medium flame for 5-6 mintues, while string occasionally.

Remove from the flame and allow the mixture to cool completely.

Once cool combined the mushroom mixture to cool completely.

Once cooled combine the mushroom mixture and milk and blend in mixer till it becomes smooth.

Transfer the mixture in to the deep non stick pan, add the salt, pepper and one cup of water , mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2-3 minutes, while string ocassionally.

Serve hot.

Cerely Garlic Toast

Ingredients

Whole Wheat Bread Slices        -  4

For the Garlic Cerely Spread

Chopped Cerely          - 1/4 cup

Roughly Chopped        - 2tsp 
Garlic

Low Fat Butter            - 1tsp

Salt                           - To taste

Method

Combine all the ingredients and blend in a mixer to a coarse paste without using water

Divide it into a four equal portions and keep aside.

How to proceed

Place the Bread Slice on a clean dry surfaces and apply 1 portion of cerely garlic spread evenly on each bread slice.

Bake them on a pre-heated oven at 180degree centigrade for mintues or till the toasts are evenly crisp.

Cut the each toast into 2 pieces and diagonally

Serve immediately.

A delicious starter made with low fat butter, cerely ground together make to make an aromatic spread, Both cerely and garlic are beneficial for diabetes.
